Honestly, I think watami serves one of the nicest Japanese food. Though yes, it can get pretty expensive as well. So We decided to get ourselves a set for 2 and here are the portions of the food! It’s definitely enough to fit 4 people! Thank goodness we didn’t order anything extra.

And we topped up 2.90 each for the dessert. The creme brule was alright. It was cold though though. And the rest liked the matcha tiramisu pretty much. Haha

Head over to baroque for some happy hours! It was my first time there but the place was pretty interesting. They had live bands (which was quite good!) and free housepour from 9-11pm. One thing bad was that the music was so loud you couldnt hear each other talking. Haha stayed around for abit before heading home

Met up with Abby dearest after she came back from exchange! She decided to have all her local food at one go by having eskimo, mee sua and nasi lemak for dinner! Haha. And thereafter introducing to the online shopping bandwagon! Lol. Glad you are back fruit juice )

126. head & heels over truffle

decided to have a random group dinner outing with my colleagues one day. so out of the few places suggested, we decided to head to barracks to try their famous truffle fries! poor anna had to rush through her trades cos the volume was super high that day. haha. fortunately we made it in time to catch the dempsey shuttle bus! oh yes, they have a shuttle bus. im pretty sure not alot people know about this. haha. so anyways. the bus came punctually at the stipulated timing and left within 30 seconds. lol. we were so privileged to be the only passengers at that time. finally made it!

we were so busy taking pictures once we sat down that i think the waitresses must be very amused. i like how the menu came in a form of newspaper. it’s so cool! and guess who we saw! HAHAHAH. okay this was super cheap thrill. he was our entertainment for the night. -.-

715! hahaha. he was with an actress. but im not gonna say who. hehe

haha. so we tried their famous american sliders and fish & chips! it was really filling for the 3 of us. their fish & chips was different cos they used cod fish and it came with their awesome truffle fries. the beef was soo good too!

american sliders w bacon and cheese topping w truffle and potato fries UPSIZED. hahaha

but no matter how full we are, we always have space for dessert. haha. so here are the gigantic portions of dessert. LOL

strawberry shortcake. their strawberry shortcake is different from the usual we have. mainly cos theirs is more moist, cakey and the strawberry fillings are really sour. hahaha. so if i have to choose, i’ll go for canele’s strawberry shortcake all over again.

chocolate chai cake. which was quite interesting. hahaha. honestly, i think their mains deserve more love than their desserts. esp their famous truffle fries <3

last weekend was mummy dearest’s birthday! so i brought them to royal china for a treat after reading reviews about it! had to make a reservation at this place cos it always seems full & crowded.

honestly, i think royal china is a lil overrated. i mean, the food is not bad but it wasnt that fantastic. i believe you can get better quality at similar price elsewhere. maybe it’s the mains that were impressive. i dont know. either way, it was a good experience. nice ambience w really nice desserts. i’ll probably return for their desserts. haha

ending off w the birthday tart. cos this was so yummy. haha. it’s mixed berries tart. got it from taka basement at a place called perla. it is r e a l l y good. haha

125. the old and new

the last of 2011 was spent celebrating weiling’s birthday. haha it was a surprise with lots of plans with some of the plans failing quite terribly. hahaha. the capricorn ah. too smart already. lol. but we tried, honestly! so anyway me and chens were supposed to meet her at bugis at 7. but i knocked off (surprisingly) at 430pm! so in the end i decided to go to her office to surprise her. she gave me the bigger surprise saying she can knock off already. omg. and the plan to bump into wj also fail cos the birthday girl had alr suspected they were coming. so anyways, we took her to some corner and blindfolded her so that we can run off to get balloons. haaha. i think that was the longest wait in darkness for her.

finally moving off w me trying to tie the balloon to her bag. hahaha.

took her to Fika at arab street where along the way, everyone stared at us (i had no idea it’s cos of the balloon, the birthday girl or just us). anyways we received random happy birthday along the way haha. thank goodness we finally made it to the place cos we were so tired and hungry already. and yay dinner!

the pasta was not bad, the grilled chicken crepe was pretty nice. the chilled salmon crepe tasted weird maybe cos it was chilled. lol. i think ikea meatballs are 100 times nicer and the beef tasted like meatballs :]

this is the i dont know how many-th plan already. but we managed to pull it off! YAY! lol. surprising weiling is SO difficult! we wanted to go for desserts at the yoghurt shop opposite but there were too many people there. so we settled for frolick in the end. i love yoghurt

i met up with the girls to have our new year lunch at this Delicious in Scotts square. we chose scotts square since it’s a new place and hopefully we will manage to find good finds. haha. but apparently not all the shops are fully operational so we have little to choose from.

124. Happy new year!

Hi everyone! haha. yes im still alive (in case you are wondering) i just decided to take a (long) break cos i just dont have the time. lol and like since i am facing the computer everyday at work, i rarely get on my lappie at home after that cos i wanted to give my eyes a break. so since im back, lemme give an update on the recent happenings! December is truly a month to get fat. i feel damn fat already oh dear. with good food + good company the whole month, it’s definitely a month to get merry and enjoy the festive season! my first christmas dinner started with the wolfpack at himawari jap restaurant! it’s an ala carte jap buffet located at alexandra and it’s my first time there to that ulu place. haha

cos all of us had never play the game before, so they were trying to figure out the game. haha and while they are hard at work, we decided to camwhore in the meantime. haha
